With over 40 actors, directors and crew involved, there is a lot to love about this production.Also, we can honestly say that this year we have the strongest collection of plays to date. In fact, the standard of submissions was so high this year that we could not decide between some of the entries and have had to increase the number of plays from our usual eight to a perfect ten.All ten short plays, based on life in Dubai, will be shown each night and it is you, the audience, that will choose the winner. Do come along for what is always one of the best events on the theatre calendar.

Show dates: 20th, 21st, 26th, 27th & 28th of April.

Dubai Drama Group Committee – Interested?

Each June the Dubai Drama Group holds it’s Annual General Meeting. At this meeting there will be an election for officers and ordinary members to serve on the Committee. The officers are Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, Membership Secretary and Social Secretary.  In addition there are 4 other ordinary committee members; one of whom would be responsible for PR. We will be sending out information about the AGM and procedure for the elections to the Committee nearer to the time. However, for now, if you think serving on the Committee is something that may interest you, or you would like to find out more about what it means, drop a note to info@dubaidramagroup.com or ask any of the existing Committee members next time you meet them.

Call for Directors

With complete disregard for any dire prophecies based on the Mayan Calendar, Dubai Drama Group is soliciting proposals from directors interested in working on our 2012/2013 season!  If you have a burning desire to spend time with a group of people who will do almost anything you tell them to (let’s face it, who doesn’t?), AND if you have a play you’re interested in directing, please submit a proposal to info@dubaidramagroup.com including:

1.  Your contact information (obviously);

2.  The title and a short description of the play;

3.  A breakdown of your actor/set/costume/prop requirements (rough ideas are fine at this stage);

4.  A brief summary of your concept for the production (are you adapting an old script, are you thinking of anything special in terms of venue, timing Etc.); and,

Many thanks, and we look forward to hearing from you! – open to members and non-members alike.
